Another July Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair is over. The 49th annual, in fact.

But Great Glass Jewelry will be at the October 2024 show for the first 12 days. Stop by my booth from October 3rd through the 14th only. ( I can't be away for the whole 18 days!)

I will have my usual dichroic glass jewelry (more dichroic glass sets and more glass bracelets coming up)!

I'm trying to learn a new weave for chainmaille right now. It has a very funny name - Nidhogg. But I assure you, it's a pretty weave.

Let me know if you'd like to have a custom piece made and brought to the Craftsmen's Fair in October. My email is: JMMonasch@gmail.com

Great Glass Jewelry

The glass jewelry is made from two or three layers of flat colored glass- a base color, the dichroic (colorful) glass in the middle, and then a clear glass on top.It is melted in a kiln at about 1400+ degrees to a thickness of about ½”.

Chainmaille is created by opening and closing individual rings and interconnecting them.  Some pieces like earrings take about an hour, while complex weaves take days.  All my chainmaille jewelry is made with lightweight aluminum (does not tarnish!) sterling silver, stainless steel (won't tarnish) or copper links.  To clean copper if you prefer the bright, shiny look simply soak the piece in equal parts water and lemon juice.
